Tips for visiting Piedmont in the fall

Grape harvest in the Piedmont wine region generally takes place late August to early October, so if you want to see it in action, plan your trip accodringly.

Dress in layers as it can be quite chilly in the morning and evening. Bring a warm jacket, but remember that during the day you may be more comfortable in a long or even short-sleeve shirt.

Comfortable walking shoes are a good idea. The Langhe, Roero, and / or Monferrato countryside can be quite hilly and the villages have lots of cobblestone streets.

Book lodging and restaurant reservations early! Since fall in Piedmont is the height of tourist season, things book up quickly. For area events, contact the organizer to see if you should book in advance.
